Jay Manuel is no stranger to "the business of managing the esthetic," as he calls it. With an eye for creating stunning conceptual direction, Manuel has spent more than a decade in the word of high fashion and beauty, both in front of and behind the cameras.
Manuel is also the host of the makeover series "Style Her Famous" and fashion correspondent for E! Networks. He can be seen on the red carpet as part of the network's team covering The Primetime Emmy Awards, The Golden Globe Awards, The Grammy Awards and The Academy Awards. He served as host of "Style Rocks the Red Carpet" for New York Fashion Week in 2006 and 2007 and continues to co-host the "Fashion Police" E! red carpet specials.
In 2007, Jay returned home to Canada to take on the role as host/executive producer of "Canada's Next Top Model."
A fashion and beauty expert who began his career as a makeup artist, Manuel's unique vision as creative director and producer have contributed to the success of ten popular seasons of "America's Next Top Model." His artistry and expertise has been seen on the covers of the world's most celebrated fashion magazines and on the runways of the industry's top designers. Having built a career on calculated risk-taking, extreme good taste and an exquisite eye for what the public wants next, his counsel and talent is sought by celebrities, photographers and advertising executives the world over.
Manuel has appeared on "The Tyra Banks Show," "Eve," "The 2006 Much Music Video Awards," "The 2007 Much Music Video Awards" and hosted "Exposed: 25 Most Notorious Moments of Fashion Week." He has worked with the world's most celebrated photographers, including Herb Ritts, Annie Leibovitz and Richard Avedon, and has created "the look" for a long list of stars and models, including Tyra Banks, Jennifer Lopez, Iman, Rebecca Romijn, Pink, Kim Cattrall, Alicia Silverstone, David Bowie, Rupert Everett and Rosario Dawson.
In 2006, Jay launched his own line of cosmetics, Manual Override, an innovative new product line designed to enhance the makeup women already use -- something that is sure to revolutionize the industry.
Most importantly, Jay has recently lent his talents to hosting "Fashion Cares 2007," which benefits AIDS research and the "American Image Awards 2007," benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
