Mike Richards
Mike Richards is the rare combination of a seasoned producer and network on air talent. He started his career hosting a late night comedy talk show called "The Randumb Show" at Pepperdine University. This weekly comedy show won multiple college broadcasting awards and caught the attention of television legend Dick Clark.
Immediately after graduating from college, Mike hosted a Nickelodeon pilot called "Twisted" and went to work for "The Tonight Show". Climbing the late night ranks at NBC, Mike wrote and appeared in multiple comedy bits on "Later" while performing stand up comedy in Los Angeles.
From "Later", Mike produced "Friends or Lovers" for USA, "The Too Late Show" for Paramount, "Fi-Sci" for Sci-Fi, "The Ultimate Action" on FOX, "The Perfect Date" on MTV and "The Weakest Link" on NBC. During this time, Mike continued to pursue his on camera career hosting multiple pilots including "Chatroom America" a late night talk show for MGM, and the "The Real Deal" for Twentieth Century Fox Television.
As the Senior Producer of the NBC daytime strip, "The Other Half," Richards reconnected with Dick Clark. Clark brought on Mike as Senior Development Executive at dick clark productions when "The Other Half" ended its run.
Since his first days at dcp, Mike has followed Dick Clark's words of wisdom, "I've hosted and produced for over 40 years, there's no reason you can't". As a result of that conversation, Mike's deal at dcp allows him to host while working on production and development at dcp. Mike capitalized on Clark's trust and hosted the WB reality show "High School Reunion". In addition to his work for the WB, Mike has been a correspondent for the American Music Awards and for "Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve" with Regis Philbin.
During his tenure at DCP, Mike produced multiple episodes of ABC's "Bloopers", the WB's "Family Television Awards", "TV Guide's Greatest Moments of the Year" for ABC and "The DVD Awards" for FX. While improving those existing franchises, Mike also sold his own original concepts to multiple networks. From this success, Mike was soon promoted to Vice President of Development and Current Series.
Continuing to excel both behind the camera and in front, Richards is the host of the reality phenomenon "Beauty and the Geek" for the CW and "Dailies" for Reelz.
Richards was born and raised in Los Angeles and got married on April 1st 2006... and he is not joking.
