CALLUM BLUE
as MAJOR ZOD
Callum Blue has been added to the cast of the hit show "Smallville," which is heading into production on its ninth season on The CW network. He will play the infamous character Major Zod, Superman's greatest film villain, originally played by Terence Stamp in "Superman II."
Blue, who may best be known for his role as Mason, a grim reaper, on the series "Dead Like Me, also recently starred in "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" playing Lex, the love interest to Billie Piper's character who keeps her true career a secret from him. Blue also played the role of Anthony Knivert in King Henry VIII's court in "The Tudors" opposite Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Sam Neill, and before that, he starred opposite Jennifer Esposito on the well beloved series "Related."
Recent film credits include the feature film "A Christmas Carol" for director Robert Zemeckis, the independent film "Caffeine," opposite Katherine Heigl, which centers on an ensemble cast of twelve characters in a coffee shop and focuses on their romantic relations, and "Little Fish, Strange Pond" opposite Mathew Modine playing Sweet Stephen, a philosophy-spouting hit man, which will be hitting film festivals later this year.
Blue also starred in the film "Princess Diaries 2" opposite Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway and Hector Elizondo, playing the role of Duke Andrew, Anne Hathaway's love interest. Other previous film credits include playing the real-life role of Eric Newby in "In Love and War in the Appenines" and Aramis in the Mario Andreacchio feature film "Young Blades."
Blue's other television credits include "Dirt," "Grey's Anatomy," channel 4 UK's hit series "As If," "Sanctuary," "Shades," "The Bill," "The Practice" and "Casualty."
A native of East London, England, Blue received his theatrical training at Mountview in London. He currently resides between Los Angeles and London.
